Nurses Group

The WoSCAN Cancer Nurses Group is a collaborative group of nurses from the four NHS Boards in the West of Scotland with representation from each tumour specific Managed Clinical Network, primary care, palliative care and public health. Its purpose is to determine and develop the nursing contribution to patient focused service delivery within the West of Scotland.

The chair represents the group on the Regional Cancer Clinical Leads Group and at the Regional Cancer Advisory Group.
Key objectives include:
  • To provide a forum for communication.
  • To influence and direct the strategic agenda for cancer nursing.
  • To communicate the regional and local need to ensure equity of cancer standards and service.
  • To encourage patient group involvement in all work undertaken.
  • To influence standardisation and improvements in practice at local and regional level.
