Lung Cancer

The West of Scotland Managed Clinical Network for Lung Cancer was formed in 2002.  It supports and develops services for over 2,000 lung cancer patients per year across the region.  The MCN is a partnership between clinicians, surgeons, nurses, radiologists, pathologists, allied health professionals, and managers committed to improving the processes, quality of care, and outcomes of care for patients.

The partners involved in the MCN work effectively in multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) to provide a range of expertise and input into each and every patients’ care and treatment plan, ensuring this is delivered efficiently and effectively.  Through this multidisciplinary management approach, coupled with exchanging information and providing support to patients throughout the course of their disease, we aim to deliver the best available treatment and service to every lung cancer patient within the West of Scotland, keeping the patient experience central to service development as a priority.
