National Networks

Scottish Adult Neuro-Oncology Network

The Scottish Adult Neuro-Oncology Network transitioned to sit under the umbrella Scottish Cancer Network within National Services Scotland in 2023. This brings SANON alongside other networks for rarer cancers (hepato-pancreato-biliary, mesothelioma, sarcoma and thyroid cancer) to enable collaborative working and the identification of common opportunities and challenges across the networks.

SANON operates through a national meeting, a virtual Executive Board, a Supportive and Psychological Care Subgroup and leads for professions (e.g. radiology and topics (e.g. research).

Scottish HepatoPancreatoBiliary Network

The Scottish HPB Cancer Network was officially launched in April 2005 by the Health Minister.  It’s primary aim is to ensure equity of care for all patients in Scotland with cancer of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder or biliary tree.  The aim will be achieved by prospectively auditing the quality of care provided to all patients in Scotland so that continual improvements can be made.  This will hopefully lead to the outcomes and quality of life for patients being improved.
