Bowel changes after prostate cancer treatment.
The leaflet was developed following the closure of the Late Effects Service, which previously provided support for patients experiencing gastrointestinal toxicity and other late effects after prostate cancer treatment. It was recognised that patients on the Prostate Cancer Digital Follow-Up (DFUP) pathway would benefit from access to practical self-management advice, signposting and support for bowel symptoms.
Working with colleagues involved in the former service, the leaflet was produced to provide patients with information on managing bowel changes following radiotherapy, together with links to relevant resources and sources of support. The resource complements existing support available through the Digital Follow-Up pathway and aims to help patients access appropriate advice at an earlier stage.
The leaflet also contains a link/QR code to the BWoSCC Cancer Recovery self-help videos and information, as well as contact numbers for the Prostate Cancer DFUP HCSWs.
