Haemato-oncology

The West of Scotland Managed Clinical Network for Haemato-oncology was established in 2002 with support from all in the region with an interest in cancers of the blood and lymphatic system. The MCN includes 5 NHS Board areas (Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Ayrshire & Arran, Lanarkshire, Forth Valley and Dumfries & Galloway) and brings together healthcare professionals from all the various specialties involved in the diagnosis and treatment of blood cancers. This includes medical staff (haematologists, oncologists, pathologists, radiologists), laboratory staff, nurses, pharmacists, clinical trials co-ordinators and audit facilitators.

The aim of the Network is to improve the quality of service and ultimately the care and outcomes for people with blood cancer in the West of Scotland. The Network seeks to ensure that such care is provided on an equitable basis, regardless of geographical or socio-economic factors.
