Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in Scotland, with approximately 4500 new cases diagnosed annually. The network was founded in 2002, and its aim is to improve the quality of service and ensure equity of care for all patients who are referred for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in the West of Scotland.

West of Scotland breast cancer services are organised around five multidisciplinary teams (MDTs). All units participate in the network annual workplan, and our lead clinician reports to the Regional Cancer Advisory Group to inform them on network issues, challenges, and priorities in order to deliver the highest standard of care for breast cancer patients.
